Europeans: Haha those dumb Americans voting for Trump!
*Ignores Golden Dawn in Greece*
*Ignores UKIP in Britain*
*Ignores Swedish Democrats*
*Ignores Svoboda in Ukraine*
*Ignores AfD in Germany*
*Ignores the 80+ other fascist groups in Europe that have been gaining traction*
Europeans: Stupid Americans don’t you know that we made racism illegal in 1881 :) No racism in Europe :)
I’m not sure how we’re ignoring AfD in Germany if it’s one of the things we hear about and discuss every day, but okay. If it makes you feel better feel free to pretend we don’t care, but last time I looked we were discussing them so much it sometimes feels like a wonder we get anything done at all.
And that’s not even going into the ever present discussions about politically motivated crime. Also in my experience, our fellow Europeans do discuss their far - right political groups as well, so I’m really not sure where you get your information from.
Dear OP, please show me one post where someone actually said there’s no racism in Europe. One post. Go.
LOL. The rise of far-right in Europe is a topic that Europeans don’t ignore, but quite the opposite: we discuss it till we’re sick and we WORRY. Because we have horrible history with far-right and FUCK we’re scared that it’s happening all over again.
But yeah, sure, we will point at people voting for Trump. Because we KNOW HOW IT ENDS.
Really, who pretends there’s no racism in Europe though, I mean, for as long as I can remember we’ve been discussing the rise of far right parties. And also, not all countries are the same, the far-right doesn’t really have a representation in Spain for instance but Spaniards still know and worry about the existence of Le Pen or Farage.
Is this one of those posts based on information you see on tumblr only
You can read about it in the news everyday and everybody I know is fucking scared because of this situation. Europe is in a bad place right now and we all know about that.
But yet again - tumblr likes to ignore daily news and pretend some issues don’t exits, so it’s easier to make catchy posts for notes.
